Youth Development Training and Technical Assistance Resource Toolkit
Youth workers need training and ongoing professional development to enhance their skills and keep them current. This toolkit focuses on a strategy for meeting that need: community based training and technical assistance resource centers for youth workers. It contains three major topics: Making the Case; Getting the Right Start; and Tools and Resources and within each a wealth of information to help begin and effectively maintain these crucial organizations.

 

Get Children's Books for Free
The primary goal of First Book is to work with existing literacy programs to distribute new books to children who, for economic reasons, have little or no access to books. First Book distributes books to community-based programs serving children from low-income families through our National Book Bank. The National Book Bank provides a mechanism for publishers to make large donations to First Book for distribution to children from low-income families across the country periodically throughout the year.

Bullying Prevention is Crime Prevention (Download 177k PDF)
This report provides information about three promising prevention programs. The report also links bullying behavior to future criminal behavior. It is a must read for educators and administrators thinking about implementing a bully prevention program.
